Pierce has been on a tear in the UFC, winning four of his five fights in the Octagon, with the sole loss coming by decision at the hands of perennial contender Jon Fitch. He's riding a three fight win streak coming into this fight, most recently taking out Kenny Roberts by TKO at UFC 126 in February for his third straight win.
Hendricks took out T.J. Waldburger at UFC Fight Night 24 in March, bouncing back from his first career loss suffered at the hands of Rick Story last September. The former two-time NCAA D-1 wrestling champion brings a 10-1 overall record into this event.
UFC 133 is expected to take place from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, and though no headlining fight has yet been set, it could feature a Featherweight Title bout between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
Penick's Analysis: This is a great fight in the division between two guys that have been coming on strong in the division. Each has a loss in the UFC to a couple of very good opponents, but each has shown a lot of promise and have picked up some highly impressive wins in their own right. This is going to be a very fun fight for this card, and it's a great addition to the lineup.
